USI – Unique Student Identifier Transcript
How to view and download my USI Transcript
Australian Government Unique Student Identifier
Narrator:
Welcome to the student video about how to view and download your USI Transcript.
Before we begin, if your USI was created for you by your training organisation, you may need to activate your USI before proceeding. Go to ‘I want to activate my account’ on the Students tab on the USI website.
Today I’m going to show you how to view and download your USI Transcript, starting from the website. You’ll need to go to www.usi.gov.au. From the home page select the ‘Student Login’ option on the top right hand corner of the screen. This will take you to the Terms and Conditions page. Tick the terms and conditions if you agree, and select ‘Next’.
Log in to your USI account using the login box on the right of the screen. Enter your USI or email you used to create your USI, followed by your password, and select ‘Login’.
When you have logged in, select the ‘View Transcript’ tile. Read the transcript information. This includes important information on what is in your USI Transcript and where the information comes from. If you agree, select the tick boxes then click ‘Next’ to continue.
You will now see your online transcript. Remember your USI Transcript is a useful backup and does not replace the statement of attainment you received from your training organisation.
Let’s have a look at your transcript and talk about what you will see on it and what you won’t see on it. What you will see on your transcript is your full name. If you wish to update your name, you can click on the ‘Update your personal details’ link.
We start with any nationally recognised VET qualifications you have completed, the name of the training organisation that issued the qualification, any nationally recognised VET units and modules you have completed, the name of the training organisation that delivered the units or modules, the funding source for any units or modules you paid for or that were subsidised by the government, the outcome you achieved for any units or modules, and the enrolment period for any units or modules.
It’s important to understand what you won’t see on your transcript. Firstly you will not see training that is not nationally recognised. If your training is nationally recognised, look for the Nationally Recognised Training symbol on your certificate or statement of attainment.
Secondly, you won’t see training that was completed before January 2015. Thirdly, depending on how often your training organisation reports, your recent training may not appear until the following year.
And finally, did you provide your USI to the training organisation who delivered the training? If you didn’t, you will not see that training on your transcript. You need to provide them with your USI, and they may update your training record and your USI Transcript.
Now let’s get back to the transcript. If you would like to download a pdf copy of your USI Transcript, you can click on the ‘Download’ button. Once the pdf opens, you can choose to print or save your USI Transcript. Your transcript may be a useful backup if the original documentation for training from 2015 onwards is lost, or where a training organisation is no longer operating and you cannot obtain a copy.
For more student information on USI Transcripts, go to the USI website and click on the ‘Students’ tab.
Thank you for watching.
