VET transcripts and employers
Vocational education and training (VET) transcripts are based on the same evidence of training that Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) use.
VET transcripts show:
- proof of qualification
- verification of training records
- pre-requisites for additional training.
How to receive a VET transcript
USI account holders can share their VET transcript with you as a printed copy or digitally via email, link and QR code.
Note that VET transcripts don’t replace the actual certificates or statement of attainments issued by an RTO. If you doubt the authenticity of a training document, you should contact the relevant RTO.
Inaccurate or incomplete VET transcripts
VET transcripts may have inaccurate or incomplete information because:
- recently completed training hasn’t uploaded to the national VET data collections
- RTOs haven’t reported the completion of training, required on a:
- quarterly basis for government funded courses
- annual basis for fee-for-service/privately funded courses
- the student didn’t provide their USI for completed training
- the provider didn’t provide a USI when submitting training information to the National VET Data Collections
- the RTOs, courses or individuals are exempt from the USI requirements due to being:
- training completed before 2015
- national security and defence courses
- single day courses completed before 2018.
