Arrange an authorised representative

One-off authorisation

Verbal confirmation can only be used point-in-time (such as, during the phone call in question). It isn’t an ongoing authorisation.

You can provide us verbal confirmation of your representative by:

Ongoing authorisation

You can do this by completing an authorised representative form.

You can choose whether the representative is only for a specific time, or an ongoing basis.

When choosing an authorised representative, remember that:

  • you’ll be disclosing your USI to them
  • depending on permissions you give, your representative can make enquiries, update your personal and contact details in your USI account or obtain your VET transcript
  • your representative must undergo a proof of identity check when they contact us – this must exactly match the details submitted on the form
  • your representative must provide proof of account holder identity.

We may ask you to review your authorisation from time to time, to ensure validity. If you think your authorisation is being misused, it’s important that you contact us.

You can cancel or modify your representative at any time. Call us or submit a cancellation authorised representative form.

Parents and guardians as representatives

Parent or guardians can enquire on behalf of their children under the age of 15 by calling us on 1300 857 536.

Parents or guardians must provide proof of identity. Once proof of identity is confirmed, we can:

  • look up and verify details of the USI account
  • update personal and contact information
  • discuss details of the VET transcript
  • provide them with a copy of a VET transcript
  • action a Help Request.

Forms

Please submit completed form to forms@usi.gov.au. Allow 10 business days for your requests to be actioned and to receive an email response.
